A whole year, one more month to be at the same time of year as the first picture. Hard to believe it has been a year, and there have been fallers along the way... However, almost finished - I want to do next months just to see how different they may be - with continuing amazing weather 23.5 degs on October the 30th!!!!
Thinking about another subject or theme for the next twelve months, not decided yet what to do... The October picture was taken on the 7D and I am interested in looking at the comparable month to see if there is anything other than the seasonal changes to be noted with the higher pixel count.

9th Month - July 2011 - Steve
As I said in the previous post not a moment ago, life conspired against me and sadly July was lost after my Mother was diagnosed with an inoperable or treatable brain tumour, having been given a few months to live I think she maybe just gave up and passed away within a month, sadly missed by us all.
So for my July effort I have tweaked another picture with a watercolour style - one of Mum's favourites - and I think it works well, it is more obvious on a larger image so click on it to go full size.
Just waiting for the tripod and will get an August photo in the bag hopefully within the next week.

8th Month - June 2011 - Steve
Life conspired against me in both June and July so I never actually made it to the photo point, so I have decided to do some Photoshop work - this one for June I had a play with trying to emulate Vincent Van Gogh - limited success I think more swirls and a larger brush may be needed, anyway it is a start.
I think the original photo is the one from April or May - I forget which and it was only five minutes ago!!
I have made one foray to the site in August - due to roadworks now a 5 min drive is a 15 minute drive! - and was there late at night as wanted to try and get something with the moonlight - looked okay on the camera but way to much shake and blur on the PC full size... so have ordered a tripod and will go back again as soon as it arrives, really want to see if I can get a low moon in the picture, but not 100% sure if it is achievable yet... we will see!

7th Month - Weekend of the 7/8 May - Steve
Album
Wow where is the time going, here is the next shot in the sequence. I am confident that the missing entry from last month will make an appearance at some point... There is also a possibility of some historical images from the UK (South) site that will be published on a separate page.
Anyway not a huge change from last month, maybe some additional shades of green and finally some leaves on the foreground trees. Still no sign of any Sunflower fields so maybe this is a non-sunflower year :-(

6th Month - 09 Apr 2011 - MIke
Well here we are again .... did someone press fast forward on the VCR of life (Yeah I know saying VCR and not DVD makes me sound old ... well I am old so ...)
Once again I am a week behind - due having been away last weekend in Lincolnshire photographing things that are old and decrepit just like myself.
Again my image doesn't look hugely different from previous ones but hey ho here it is anyway:

6th Month - Weekend 2-3 April 2011 - Steve
The only problem with this whole exercise is how quickly the months seem to be passing! It seems no time at all since the last weekend that photos were taken, although to be fair we were all a little after the "actual" first weekend with getting the pictures, and even later with the posts...
However here is this months effort - thank you, the fields are now colouring with yellow (Rape Seed) and I am still hopeful for Sunflowers later in the year.
Oh and what a nice friendly, helpful cloud that was to pose so nicely in the view!
Certainly it is looking more Spring like, although I am still disappointed in the seeming lack of any real change in the foreground - maybe next time... Temperature hit 28C (82F) here on Friday/Saturday and more of the same this week, although not quite as hot. Hopefully a burst of colour will present for three weeks time...

Hahaha! First weekend in March - Not! - Sally
February is officially too short! I was away the first weekend in March - so took this month's offering in the second week of March and am uploading in the third week of March! And have probably done it wrong! Again! Whoops! Hey ho ~ this month has seen all sorts of weather ~ most notably, rain ~ much needed here. The feed to the pond, as you can see, has filled up ~ and HOORAY ~ spring must be nearly here because there are daffs out. Lovely (just shame about the Welsh connotation!! LOL! JOKE!!!)

5th Month - Weeeknd 12th/13th March - Mike
Well as Steve said life seems to have gotten in the way of month 5 being shot on time. Mine was also a bit of a rush Job as I had other things I wanted to Photograph on 13th.
Again no huge difference in my shot over last month, save the sky having some blue bits in it ... we don't often get that round here.
Well lets see if the next instalment sees us shoot on the 1st weekend and if much difference in the scenes. Hope everyone is enjoying keeping tabs on the changes.

5th Month - Weekend 12-13 February 2011 - Steve
Well everyone is a weekend late this month, other forces and pressures for all of us I think.
Still no major changes here, there is limited blossom in the garden on the Magnolia and a couple of small Cherry? trees, but the spot for the picture as can be seen has no real activity going on. The fields are a bit greener and I have my fingers crossed that it will be Sunflowers or something similarly colourful!
So here is this months picture, shame it isn't a little more interesting...
other pictures are in the album

4th Month. Weekend 5th/6th Feb 2011 - Mike
Well as Steve has touched on this last month has gone by quicker than the rise in fuel costs on British forecourts. I had been thinking if the scene isn't much different what am I going to do ? Sally has suggested getting up in time for a sunrise ... hmmm I'm not a morning person, I could convert to black & white .... hmm still a good few months to come ..soooo .... I changed nothing so the image looks rather remarkably similar to last months.
I only visited the scene on the one day -Sunday and was having to judge my time carefully as I had spent the earlier part of the afternoon wandering around a Mill close to me which is in the process of being demolished and photographing it's rather stunning engine house. It rained for a fair bot of the afternoon but had stopped by the time I got to the scene and the rain had left a nice puddle to left of the scene to add some variety to the shot.
For anyone interested technical Data: Canon 50D, 28mm prime lens. Settings: ISO 640 1/80 @ f5.0

February 2011 - What a dull day!
A very dull and miserable weekend ~ I went to the site twice and it was equally dull each day!! And as I sit here typing, it's BRIGHT sunshine straight after a really heavy downpour which would probably make this month's picture a whole lot more interesting!! I believe it is called the "Law of Sod"!!!
Hey ho ---- this is the pic I took on the weekend I was meant to ~ so ..... without further ado:-

4th Month - Weekend 05-06 February 2011 - Steve
Another month has seemingly flown by without even a how do you do!
Actually visited "the spot" twice over the weekend although the first time was a drive by without stopping as the mist was covering most of the view. Sunday was a lot more successful with the mist sitting in the valleys and the low sun I managed to get a good variety of candidate photos.
The final one - others are in the album - is this one, with some nice subtle hues of colour.
Hopefully there will be a link and/or slideshow of the published images for each location that will more readily show the changes from month to month - in the works and hope to have something later in the week to try.

Where it all began ...... by SallyB

Moved to the Where it all began page

So ... as promised (three months ago!) I am sharing the photo's which I took in January 2010 - which inspired me to start thinking about taking the photo at the same location once a month through out the year.
You know the rest ~ I won't dwell ... but suffice to say, that these photo's were taken on my ixus camera, from the roof of my vauxhall astra (now gone!!)whilst I was doing my normal drive to my (then) place of work. A jogger was running up the road towards me, and I could see from the look on his face he thought I was quite mad. (Not far from the truth!) However, I suggested for him to look and see what I was seeing - and the two of us (I'd got down from the car roof by now!) just stood, stared and were in awe. I truly hope you like them. I do ..... VERY MUCH. :)
Better late than never ~ maybe?! Wkend 1st/2nd Jan 2011 - Sally

Whoops! Where does time go?! Remind me please! All of a sudden, here we are at 17th January 2011 and I receive emails pointing out my tardiness ..... and f.i.n.a.l.l.y. I get round to uploading my pics for the first month of 2011!!
My chosen spot has not changed much this month either ~ am thinking (if I can drag my sorry a*se out of bed!!!) that I may go for a sunrise shot for next month ~ just for something fractionally different.
Although, I was surprised at just how low the water is at the moment in the pond. (Suspicion is though, that since I took the photo's it will have raised significantly because ALL IT's DONE so far this year is RAIN!!!)
Anyway ~ here you go ... this month's photo's! Enjoy (the remainder of) January x.

3rd Month - Weekend 01-02 January 2011 - Steve
Firstly I will admit I didn't get a photo "in the bag" until Tuesday lunchtime. Only because the result from the weekend would be something like the white background to this text!
Anyway below is the selected image, battling against the sun coming straight at me, the pictures to the immediate left and right of the view have lovely blue skies! I am going to have to put a lot more thought into the time of my visits from now on... Well I will try!
Hopefully by February there will be some changes afoot so that there will be more to see, and if I get the timing right a better picture to show...

3rd Month. Weekend 01-02 January 2011 - Mike
Well that came around quickly. This months shot was a bit of a rush job as I was staying with friends in Runcorn and this was pencilled in for one night but ended up being three nights. I took several shots and none looked overly exciting at 1st glance and I also thought there was little, if anything to differentiate this shot from what I expect the next month and maybe two would be like.
Then I saw the shot I have chosen and it struck me that people in the shot made it different to the shots so far and the red/ Orange bag being carried gave an almost symmetrical balance with the red bin. Thus choosing this image was made quite easy in the end.
Technical info for anyone interested is: Canon 50D with 28mm f2.8 Prime (Fixed) lens. Shot in Full manual at 1/40 sec at f10.0
